Zinc Sulphate Eye Drops
DEFINITION
Zinc Sulfate Eye Drops are a sterile solution containing 0.25% w/v of Zinc Sulfate Heptahydrate in Purified Water.
The eye drops comply with the requirements stated under Eye Preparations and with the following requirements.
Content of zinc sulfate heptahydrate, ZnSO4,7H2O
0.22 to 0.28% w/v.
ASSAY
To 5 mL add 50 mL of water and 5 mL of ammonia buffer pH 10.9 and titrate with 0.01M disodium edetate VS using mordant black 11 solution as indicator. Each mL of 0.01M disodium edetate VS is equivalent to 2.875 mg of ZnSO4,7H2O.
