Unless otherwise justified and authorised, Veterinary Oral Powders comply with the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia monograph for Oral Powders (1165). In addition to these requirements, reproduced in the British Pharmacopoeia, the following statements apply to those veterinary oral powders that are the subject of an individual monograph in the British Pharmacopoeia (Veterinary).
DEFINITION
Veterinary Oral Powders are finely divided powders that contain one or more active ingredients with or without excipients such as antimicrobial preservatives, dispersing, suspending or wetting agents and, where necessary, authorised flavouring agents and colouring matter. They are intended for oral administration, usually after dilution in the feed or drinking water.
Veterinary Oral Powders may be in the form of soluble or wettable powders.
STORAGE
Veterinary Oral Powders should be stored in airtight containers.
