In addition to the requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia, the statements applicable to Parenteral Preparations of the British Pharmacopoeia, modified as stated below, apply to those injections and intravenous infusions that are the subject of an individual monograph in the British Pharmacopoeia (Veterinary).
DEFINITION
Parenteral Preparations prepared with an oily vehicle are suitable for intramuscular or subcutaneous administration only and are not given intravenously.
