Infrared absorption spectrophotometry (2.2.24).<\/p>\n<p>Comparison buprenorphine hydrochloride CRS.<\/p>\n<p>B. 3 mL of solution S (see Tests) gives reaction (a) of chlorides (2.3.1).<\/p>\n<h2>TESTS<\/h2>\n<h3>Solution S<\/h3>\n<p>Dissolve 0.250 g in 5.0 mL of methanol R and, while stirring, dilute to 25.0 mL with carbon dioxide-free water R.<\/p>\n<h3>Appearance of solution<\/h3>\n<p>Solution S is clear (2.2.1) and colourless (2.2.2, Method II).<\/p>\n<h3>Acidity or alkalinity<\/h3>\n<p>To 10.0 mL of solution S add 0.05 mL of methyl red solution R. Not more than 0.2 mL of 0.02 M sodium hydroxide or 0.02 M hydrochloric acid is required to change the colour of the indicator.<\/p>\n<h3>Specific optical rotation (2.2.7)<\/h3>\n<p>-92 to -98 (dried substance).<\/p>\n<p>Dissolve 0.200 g in methanol R and dilute to 20.0 mL with the same solvent.<\/p>\n<h3>Related substances<\/h3>\n<p>Liquid chromatography (2.2.29).<\/p>\n<p>Test solution: Dissolve 50.0 mg of the substance to be examined in methanol R and dilute to 10.0 mL with the same solvent.<\/p>\n<p>Reference solution (a): Dilute 1.0 mL of the test solution to 100.0 mL with methanol R. Carry out a potentiometric titration (2.2.20), using 0.1 M sodium hydroxide. Read the volume added between the 2 points of inflexion.<\/p>\n<p>Carry out a blank titration.<\/p>\n<p>1 mL of 0.1 M sodium hydroxide is equivalent to 50.41 mg of C29H42ClNO4.<\/p>\n<h2>STORAGE<\/h2>\n<p>Protected from light.<\/p>\n<h2>IMPURITIES<\/h2>\n<p>Specified impurities A, B, F, G, H, J.<\/p>\n<p>Other detectable impurities (the following substances would, if present at a sufficient level, be detected by one or other of the tests in the monograph.
