Eur. monograph 3094)<\/p>\n<p>C<sub>22<\/sub>H<sub>24<\/sub>ClN<sub>3<\/sub>O<sub>4<\/sub>\u00a0 \u00a0429.9\u00a0 \u00a0183319-69-9<\/p>\n<p>Action and use<\/p>\n<p>Tyrosine kinase (EGFR) inhibitor; antineoplastic.<\/p>\n<p>DEFINITION<\/p>\n<p>N-(3-Ethynylphenyl)-6,7-bis(2-methoxyethoxy)quinazolin-4-amine hydrochloride.<\/p>\n<p>Content<\/p>\n<p>98.0 per cent to 102.0 per cent (anhydrous substance).<\/p>\n<p>CHARACTERS<\/p>\n<p>Appearance<\/p>\n<p>White or pale yellow powder.<\/p>\n<p>Solubility<\/p>\n<p>Practically insoluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol (96 per cent), practically insoluble in heptane.<\/p>\n<p>It shows polymorphism (5.9).<\/p>\n<p>IDENTIFICATION<\/p>\n<p>A. Infrared absorption spectrophotometry (2.2.24).<\/p>\n<p>Comparison erlotinib hydrochloride CRS.<\/p>\n<p>If the spectra obtained in the solid state show differences, dissolve the substance to be examined and the reference substance separately in methanol R (with heating), evaporate to dryness and record new spectra using the residues.<\/p>\n<p>B. To 24 mg, add 2 mL of water R, and acidify with dilute nitric acid R. Sonicate the suspension for at least 5 min. Centrifuge. Collect the clear solution with the aid of a syringe and needle and filter, if necessary. Add 0.4 mL of silver nitrate solution R1. A white precipitate is formed. Centrifuge and wash the precipitate with 3 quantities, each of 1 mL, of water R. Suspend the precipitate in 2 mL of water R and add 1.5 mL of ammonia R.
